The Boys is third Korean studio album (fourth overall) by South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. It was released on 19 October 2011 by S.M. Entertainment, distributed by KMP Holdings and digitally release on the same day. On 8 December 2011, a Version B edition, re-titled Mr. Taxi was released. The Version B featured "Mr. Taxi" as the lead song and featured the English version of "The Boys" as a bonus track.

I Got a Boy is the fourth Korean studio album (sixth overall) by South Korean girl group Girls' Generation. It was released on January 1, 2013, by S.M. Entertainment. The album, which contains recordings dating back to 2008, is the first Korean album by the whole group after a fourteen-month hiatus, a sub-unit of members TaeTiSeo in April 2012 and the release of their second Japanese album, Girls & Peace. Member Seohyun explained the album strays away from the group's usual releases with the album being described as a "time machine" which explores the group's past and future.
